Federal Government Targets N750trn Capital Market

The Federal Government has announced plans to target a capital market worth N750 trillion. This is expected to be achieved through the listing of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and Nigeria LNG Limited on the Nigerian Exchange Limited.

The move is part of the government's efforts to build a $1 trillion economy by 2030. The listing is expected to deepen the market and improve transparency.

The government also aims to encourage private businesses to list on the exchange. The NGX has experienced significant growth since the inauguration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration in May 2023.

The Dangote Refinery has also opened its initial public offer to raise funds for its capacity expansion programmes.
