Atiku Criticises FG's Transport Allowance

Atiku Abubakar has criticised the Federal Government's planned transport allowance for public service workers. The allowance of ₦70,000 is meant to run for six months from November.

Atiku argues that it is inadequate to address the economic difficulties facing workers and families. He says the allowance will do little to address the rising costs of food, electricity, rent and other essential goods and services.

The former vice-president accuses the government of responding to economic hardship with temporary payments rather than addressing the underlying causes.
