Mexico Approves Reno Omokri As Ambassador
Reno Omokri has been approved as Nigeria's ambassador to Mexico. He will also serve as ambassador to Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

The Mexican government has given its formal consent for his appointment. Omokri was nominated by President Bola Tinubu in November 2025.
The Senate confirmed his appointment in December 2025. His posting to Mexico City was approved in March 2026.
Omokri has dismissed speculation that Mexico had rejected his appointment. He said the delay was due to preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
