Key fact

Cleaners now earn national minimum wage.

This change brings their pay in line with the national minimum wage. The decision was made after the cleaners appealed to the governor during his visit.

The governor also called for dialogue to resolve a dispute with striking hospital workers. The increase is a significant improvement for the cleaners and may have a positive impact on their lives.

The governor's administration is committed to addressing the concerns of health workers. The change may also affect other workers in the state who are paid below the minimum wage.
