The government has recruited over 30,000 health professionals in the last two and a half years. Tinubu also promised to improve healthcare infrastructure and provide incentives to retain doctors.

The migration of doctors has placed additional pressure on the already stretched healthcare system. The government is also working to strengthen disease surveillance and regional collaboration to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
