Labour Threatens Nationwide Action Over Wages
The Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress have threatened possible nationwide action over unresolved workers’ demands. The unions are calling for a reduction in petrol prices to 2024 levels and a renegotiation of the national minimum wage.

They also want the implementation of agreed tax relief measures and the resolution of outstanding issues affecting health workers and other public servants. The unions have given the Federal Government until Tuesday to resolve these issues.
If no meaningful progress is made, the unions may decide to take industrial action. This could affect many Nigerian workers and their families.
The cost of living and workers' purchasing power are major concerns for the unions. The Federal Government has been asked to make concrete commitments to address these issues.
The outcome of the next meeting will determine the unions' next move.
